Mock 3.0

1.01 UCB - Ray Rice
1.02 Juice - Chris Johnson
1.03 Legend - Andre Johnson
1.04 SchoolGirls - Calvin Johnson
1.05 UCB from D&D - Adrian Peterson
1.06 DNice - LeSean McCoy
1.07 PE - Michael Turner
1.08 Ninja - Larry Fitzgerald
1.09 New Guy - Steven Jackson
1.10 Flava - Greg Jennings

No surprises here, right? With Willis on his way out you have to think Ray should get a small bump in carries, yards, and tuddies which translates to kickers based on my math. Tough to trust the Titans situation with the lost time, a rookie QB, and new coaching staff. The real shocker should be Michael Turner! Everything I've read is that his tread resembles Jamal Lewis and Clinton Portis at this point and anyone spending an early pick on him in a PPR league should be rewarded with a struggling squad come October...Oh, and Reggie Wayne not in the 1st round? Ninja won't touch him. Flava owns the turn. And Brain, well, rumor has it he's pursuing his dream in law enforcement and will need to take a year long hiatus. His replacement - early word is there's some young hotshot in D&D's neighborhood who loves PPR and stud QBs. No joking.

2.01 Flava - Reggie Wayne
2.02 New Guy - Peyton Manning
2.03 Ninja - Tom Brady
2.04 PE - Wes Welker
2.05 DNice - Antonio Gates
2.06 D&D - Matt Forte
2.07 SchoolGirls - Shonn Greene
2.08 Legend (keep) - Rashard Mendenhall
2.09 Juice - DeSean Jackson
2.10 D&D from UCB (keep) - Vincent Jackson

Here go the QBs! In six seasons of the FPT you want to know who QB each champ? Brady, Brady, Manning, Manning, Schaub, and Rodgers. Enough said. This is why the likes of Bradford and Stafford don't look like leaders in 2011 and will likely be groomed for 2012 by Legend and Ninja. And Cutler isn't worth it for the new (non-Chicago guy). D&D has extra picks and no Brees. DNice is too smart.

3.01 D&D from UCB - Dez Bryant
3.02 Juice - Jonathan Stewart
3.03 Legend - Ryan Mathews
3.04 SchoolGirls - Brandon Marshall
3.05 D&D - Sidney Rice
3.06 DNice - Jahvid Best
3.07 PE - Phillip Rivers
3.08 Ninja - Santonio Holmes
3.09 New Guy - Steve Smith (won't be in Carolina)
3.10 Flava - Knowshon Moreno

Conley throws Baby TO back and has to settle for Sidney Rice (who oddly wasn't mentioned by the Vikes new OC that very day when discussing their offense). PE settles for Rivers after spending the last round drying his tears. And Legend soaks his diaper when Ryan Mathews falls to him which provides the first "I watched him at 11:30 one Saturday night at Freson State..." moment of the night. Juice, well, he's lurking...

4.01 Flava - DeAngelo Williams
4.02 New Guy - Percy Harvin
4.03 Ninja - Vernon Davis
4.04 PE - Kenny Britt
4.05 DNice - Matt Schaub
4.06 UCB from D&D - CJ Spiller
4.07 SchoolGirls - Cedric Benson
4.08 Legend - Matt Ryan
4.09 Juice (keep) - Frank Gore
4.10 UCB - Owen Daniels

No IDPs through 4 rounds! Either guys are getting smarter or nobody wants to spend a high pick on a DL or DB. Vernon Davis likely will be kept by Juice because he overvalues "value" and can't come to terms with Franklin in the 4th but for now, he's gone to Ninja! DNice always gets Schaub or Barber - this year he gets Schaub in the 4th and Barber in the 14th. Matty Ryan pushes an even younger Bradford for LUYAA and OD becomes the high target flex option for the UCB that can replace Finley when he tweaks his leg again.

5.01 UCB - Julio Jones
5.02 Juice - Santana Moss (anywhere but the Skins)
5.03 Legend - Anquan Boldin
5.04 SchoolGirls - Brandon Jacobs
5.05 D&D - Mark Ingram
5.06 DNice - Hines Ward
5.07 PE - London Fletcher
5.08 Ninja - Paul Pozlusney
5.09 New Guy - Reggie Bush
5.10 Flava - Ray Lewis

If Dez went in the 4th last season, Julio has to go in the top 40, doesn't he? Boldin finds that 5/48 greases the skids for a slide out of WR2 territory. And we now see the IDP run with 2 aging vets and 1 who gets injured like one.

6.01 Flava - Stephen Tulloch
6.02 New Guy - Lawrence Timmons
6.03 Ninja - Demarcus Ware
6.04 PE - Barret Ruud
6.05 DNice - Jon Beason
6.06 D&D - Tony Gonzalez
6.07 SchoolGirls - Curtis Lofton
6.08 Legend - James Laurinaitus
6.09 Juice - Danny Amendola
6.10 UCB - Felix Jones

Sorry DNice - Danny boy isn't your secret. Amendola is as tough to pronounce and spell as Houshmandzadeh....and it just so happens that their production mirrors each other, too. Just for the record, you won't surprise the savvy owners when Crabtree is tossed into the heap and you keep both Jordy and Danny since you missed out on Wesley.

7.01 UCB - Ryan Williams
7.02 Juice - Blair White
7.03 Legend - Johnny Knox
7.04 SchoolGirls (keep) - Mike Williams
7.05 D&D - Chad OchoCinco
7.06 DNice - James Starks
7.07 PE - Joseph Addai
7.08 Ninja - AJ Green
7.09 New Guy - Jason Witten
7.10 Flava - Daniel Thomas

Here's where Juice pays the bills! Back-to-back PPR picks. Pass happy offenses. Plus, have you noticed who's left??? Yikes! Better hope you're drunk by this point Chicago because it's not going to be a whole lot of fun after 9:00...

The next post will compile your rosters through 7 rounds and all your keeps...

Post-Trade Mock #1

1.01 UCB – Andre Johnson
Curveball to start the draft? To those who’ve following UCB’s antics over the years, well, you aren’t the least bit surprised by this. And Juice is left just shaking his head…good thing you love RBs my friend!

1.02 Juice – Chris Johnson
Gotta do it. Hurts to pass up Megatron but are you prepared to be that guy who passes on CJ2K?

1.03 Legend – Calvin Johnson
Just like you expected I bet. Don’t trip heading to the board!

1.04 SchoolGirls – Ray Rice
Wildcard time! I think you want a pass catching back to go with your studly wideouts. This week Ray – next week McCoy. Wonder how this plays out in 15 weeks…

1.05 UCB(from D&D) – LeSean McCoy
What’s not to love about 80+ catches?

1.06 DNice – Greg Jennings
You may think twice about this if you keep the poor man’s Wes Welker (aka Jordy Nelson). But last year’s post season play is certainly reason to pause with Jennings on the board.

1.07 PE – Adrian Peterson
AP. MJD. Sick if it were 2 years ago…

1.08 Ninja – Larry Fitzgerald
Not loving the buzz right now but your boy Kolb looks destined to be in Zona and if he is, Larry’s packing some throwing stars in 2011!

1.09 Brain – Michael Turner
Lucky for you Turner never catches anything and thus, he’s sitting here at the 9 spot. The question remains – can that offensive line survive free agency???

1.10Flava – Reggie Wayne
You laugh but this is the pick. You are to Wayne what DNice is to Marion Barber in our mock drafts.

2.01 Flava – Steven Jackson
Aren’t you a bit scared that D&D made this exact same pick in 2010?

2.02 Brain – DeSean Jackson
You loved him last year which means you must have a strong stomach.

2.03 Ninja – Santonio Holmes
Likely sticks with the JETS and looks to be the only real pass catching threat in the new Meadowlands. Odd that you had both he and Braylon as keeper options a while back, isn’t it?

2.04 PE – Peyton Manning
Yup.

2.05 DNice – Tom Brady
Josh Freeman makes a nice keep but champions understand that to win, you have to be studly under center and Josh isn’t quite ready for Christmas time yet…

2.06 D&D – Matt Forte
The forgotten man. It wasn’t too long ago a little known plodder out of Tulane was drafted in the 5th by a more successful D&D squad. Could this be a sign?

2.07 SchoolGirls – Antonio Gates
Sorry Conley but you still aren’t Antonio’s Daddy. In fact, Mr. Witten happens to be estranged from his…

2.08 Legend – Rashard Mendenhall (keep)
Funny – you keep Mendanhall and you get a free flak jacket! Nice bonus but not quite like a 100 yard kicker of which are few and far between in Pittsburgh.

2.09 Juice – Dez Bryant
Nothing like depending on this guy as your number 2. Might need to reconsider the 2 spot, my friend…

2.10 D&D (from UCB) – Vincent Jackson (keep)
Look at the previous 10 or so names. Now tell me Vincent Jackson wouldn’t be in the conversation. That’s what I thought. Good thing I put this up for most of you because some of you would be clueless with who’s available come draft night.

3.01 D&D (from UCB) – Wes Welker
Year healthier. Hopefully has a few more moves to get open, though…

3.02 Juice – Ryan Mathews
Classic upside pick. Well played.

3.03 Legend – Sidney Rice
Not sure I would want this but lucky for me, I don’t have your roster!

3.04 SchoolGirls – Jahvid Best
Hopefully last year wasn’t his “best”

3.05 D&D – Brandon Marshall (keep)
Here’s betting a TE puts up Baby TO numbers this year. Is that what you had in mind?

3.06 DNice – Jonathan Stewart
The new Marion Barber!

3.07 PE – Anquan Boldin
You obviously haven’t watched him in Baltimore. Or being a Skins fan, I suppose Boldin sounds better than making a new label for Anthony Armstrong.

3.08 Ninja – Knowshon Moreno
Should get a heavy dose with Jon Fox in Denver. Could go to Juice earlier…

3.09 Brain – Percy Harvin
Why not? Uh…migraines with an unknown cause for starters.

3.10 Flava – Shonn Green (opts not to keep in the 6th)
Good pick despite the ability to keep him in the 6th. Brandon Lloyd makes much more sense in the 22nd.

Mock Draft 1.0 - April 29th, 2011

We've only just begun, boys! Despite this being entirely possible and accurate given the pathetic keeper state of some of your rosters, the trade winds were blowing at Toilet Bowl Acres last night so expect the unexpected...infact, UCB already offered up his #1 and 2 solid keeps for a player that rhymes with "body" - any guesses? It's official: UCB is open for business!

1.01 UCB - Chris Johnson

What's not to love about drafting a stud who will be close enough to the pocket that even Jake Locker can accurately hit him in the flat?

1.02 Juice - Ray Rice

Although Willis leaving Baltimore is fantastic news for some, the local groupies still have to remain on high alert for last night's pick - Jimmy Smith. Class act.

1.03 Legend - Andre Johnson

Figures. The guy who loves to "talk about trades" snags the player most involved in trades. Consider AJ off the market...

1.04 SchoolGirls - LeSean McCoy

You know what you get from AP and let me tell you, it might be "all day" but certainly not "all December". Congrats on taking another step to the upper echelon with this pick, Michael!

1.05 Dumb and Dangerous - Calvin Johnson

You've seen the torment of having to roll Peterson regardless courtesy of your colleague down the hall. You're a smart guy, right? I would like to think smart enough to listen...and you do!

1.06 DNice - Michael Turner

A draft night failure in April has you sitting pretty regardless! Just another instance of United greatness...

1.07 Performance Enhancers - Adrian Peterson

Look who fell again...only this time, you decide to ride him all season long with MJD and FJax. Slow and steady wins the race and with a banged up MJD, high touch AP, and a 30 year old about to play second fiddle to CJ Spiller I would say PE is the odds on favorite!

1.08 Ninja Mafia - Greg Jennings

Care to dance? You've had enough of Reggie Wayne's shenanagins over the years but as we all have witnessed, the Ninja Squad is unlike most. Don't let Jermichael Finley's contract year or Jordy Nelson's rise to PPR greatness scare you - roll with ARod's #1 in 2010 (despite it being 2011)...

1.09 Brain - Reggie Wayne

"How can Reggie Wayne still be on the board????" Uh, because most of us understand he's good for 60 one week, and 7-11 the other 15. Funny feeling your true GM isn't going to like this pick...

1.10 Flava Savers - Steven Jackson

You were warned about the crapshoot but this turn requires impeccable marksmanship...even a Marine of your caliber might not be able to hit 1 out of 2. And based on this pick, you better make 11 count!

2.01 Flava Savers - Vincent Jackson

You do! This is smartest pick you might ever make by reaching a round earlier to get your guy in a contract year and dynamic offense.

2.02 Brain - Larry Fitzgerald

Reggie Wayne's second cousin?

2.03 - Ninja Mafia - Peyton Manning

Your keeping Stafford but history indicates you still need 5 more QBs on the roster and you know PE is looking to be reunited. You'll talk up Tommy B but by doing just alittle research, I suspect you'll see that kickers do make a difference in this decision.

2.04 Performance Enhancers - Tom Brady
Another year - another love lost. When are you gonna learn that the 7 spot is too early for Manning but too late at 14?

2.05 DNice - Ryan Matthews

While the back-half of round 1 can't recognize those guys fell for a reason, you seize upon their ignorance and snag a Sproles-less Matthews in sunny SD!

2.06 Dumb and Dangerous - DeSean Jackson

Reeling from DNice's pick, you scramble by going off the ESPN magazine top-200 list without considering the list was from 2010 - you know, before multiple concussions. Living up to your name, D&D!

2.07 SchoolGirls - Matt Forte

Underappreciated. Backyard. Trade bait after one of those blow-up weeks like when Juice sat him in week one last season. I love talking trade with you, SchoolGirls, but Forte will not entice me...keep that in mind when you're fishing for Nicks or Austin.

2.08 Legend - Mendenhall (Keeper)

You traded for Turner last season despite it costing your 4th so we know Mendenhall is locked and loaded. Plus, you can brag to you little sisters of the poor league about how you drafted him late in the 2nd...

2.09 Juice - Antonio Gates
You know the UCB mentality - get difference makers even if they appear to not fill a hole on the roster. You gotta love rolling AG along side VD! What sucker is going to get Gore, though? How about Brain's #9 pick? Gore looks like great value at the 9 spot and who cares about losing a 4th rounder too, right?

2.10 UCB - Wes Welker

Let's try this again, Wesley...Please tell me you've learned to make plays for yourself rather than depend on an aging, egomaniac WR. Wait! What if Ocho ends up in NE...win-win?

3.01 UCB - Dez Bryant

I love Tony Romo. Let's corner the market, shall we?

3.02 Juice - Jonathan Stewart

Feels like a vintage Juice pick. Young guy coming off a down season and oh by the way, no DWill in 2011. Could this finally be the year?

3.03 Legend - Jahvid Best

Let me guess - you watched this guy in college? Well, I didn't. I watched, or should I say searched, for this guy from week 3 on last year...

3.04 SchoolGirls - Santonio Holmes

Just the homerun hitter you're squad needs. Atlanta didn't pull a Mike Ditka on us to trade for a PPR guy...nope. They wanted a vertical threat because Roddy can't do it anymore and has evolved in a reliable PPR stud who isn't likely to find the endzone much in 2011. And before you mention Bowe, just know they reached for a tall, huge catch radius WR in the 1st last night. So long double digit mirages...

3.05 Dumb and Dangerous - Marshall (Keeper)
Do you think he would be here anyway? Afterall, isn't he like a slightly younger, yet more wounded, Houshmandzadeh? You know - 90+ for 965 and 5 TDs...Or put differently, like Cotchery and Coles circa 2006!

3.06 DNice - Matt Schaub

Reunited and feels so good! Isn't it funny how you always get mocked the same type of player...don't worry, MBIII is on your radar once we hit double digits!

3.07 Performance Enhancers - Anquan Boldin

Big name. Even bigger tease...But I'm sure he'll turn into Chris Chambers for you!

3.08 Ninja Mafia - Sidney Rice

Who cares who'll throw him the ball? And who cares he is coming off a debilitating hip condition?

3.09 Brain - DeAngelo Williams

You need an RB and can't believe this guy has fallen! Funny because this will quickly evolve from a laugher pick to the steal of the draft - hence, sitting on your bench when he blows up in week 4 and promptly traded for Johnny Knox and a bag of peanuts!

3.10 Flava Savers - Mike Williams (the skinny one)

Wow. Mike Williams. At this spot. Might be time for a Von Miller pick...

Draft Night - D&D Headquarters

With the shift to Thursday nights for the NFL Draft, we decided last year to move our site to the Conley's estate - better known as "Toilet Bowl Acres". Althought the great D&D name has only graced the TB Trophy once, we all know that seasons don't get much more predictably unsatisfying than Cotchery and his band of losers.

With the intro out of the way, let's get to the nuts and bolts of tomorrow night.

Where: Conley's house

When: 8:00

Who: Conley, Senuta, Vogel...anyone else interested (even you Fred - we'll even bust out the MMA gear for you and Juice)

What: Draw names with each official pick to determine where each FPT owner drafts in August.

Even to those who can't make it keep in mind that you need to be available in some fashion. I've heard from DNice, Fred, KJC, Senuta, Richard so far...make sure your contact info is up to date. Hate for anyone to miss out on choosing their slot because of a disconnect.

First Stop: Draft Slot!

Hey Skertich boys, time to wake up because your nightmare is about to start!

That's right my baseball loving slackers, it's time to focus on what's most important - the NFL Draft 2011. Why you ask...because with each selection by Commissioner Goodell, the FPT draws a name to determine which owner gets to pick where. In the past we've conducted this via text and phone so be available in some fashion starting at 8:00 this Thursday night. You will be contacted as soon as your name is drawn and will have approximately 10-15 minutes to make your selection. If you feel like you already know where you want to draft regardless of timing (ie. as early as possible, as late as possible, right after Brain since the talent slips...) it's on you to let someone know who can decide for you.

Reminders heading in - there are some usual keeps who force a tough decision this season so think it over first. Gore, Mendanhall, and Baby TO to name a few...this means you might be in the market to trade, decide to draft a bit earlier or later depending on how you project the keeps to play out, or might be confused at this point. I'm talking to you, Fred. And no, you can't keep guys drafted in the 5th round or earlier in 2010. While I'm at it, here's the keeper bumps for those who forget each season...

20+ and Free Agent pick-ups - 2 rounds before where the player was drafted in 2010 (FA count as 22nd rounder...)

15-19 - 3 round bump

10-14 - 4 round bump

6-9 - 5 round bump

So a 6th rounder in 2010 costs your 1st in 2011. Don't forget.

Lastly, like last year, we're keeping 4 offensive and 3 defensive players unless there's a strong push for adding either - if so, speak up!

Saturday, January 8, 2011

Happy New Year! How bout a 2 rounder?

Obviously mocking the first 20 picks without knowing the draft order is a daunting task, but as the 2010 bride's maid I suppose there isn't a better tonic for me after a disappointing December, yet again...

Looking over the keeps for everyone suggests that this season's first round could shift back to an era of RBs early and often. Or perhaps, some of you jokers might actually believe that passing on Reggie Wayne to draft Knowshon Moreno or Jahvid Best is a smart move. Anyways - here we go!

1.01 Chris Johnson

The only way he doesn't go #1 is if SchoolGirls pulls the 1 spot. Book it.

1.02 LeSean McCoy

PPR Gold. Young and forgiving defense. Only consistent piece of that offense...

1.03 Ray Rice

No McGahee means more Rice inside the 10. Plus, the guy should be a PPR monster if Cam Cameron recognizes that he has a more healthy version of Ronnie Brown and a young version of LT on his hands...Come on, Cam - give him the rock and make 'em stop ya!

1.04 Adrian Peterson

"Go ahead and hate me, hate me..." FPTers. But just remember that those fumbling troubles of years past are officially finished - just like Brett and that pervasive negativity in Minny last season. Tough to pass on a top-3 rusher and double-digit tuddies every season...

1.05 Michael Turner

Grinder who needs to move the chains to keep the rock out of Brees and Freeman's hands in 2011. Dangerous offensives next season, boys (Pack, Eagles, Indy, and the Texans, too) and that defense in the ATL lucked out in 2010 - I'll take the best IDPer on the Falcon roster - 20+ carries every week.

1.06 Andre Johnson

Gotta love consistency at wideout. Kicker chances every week and a few haymakers to boot, right Finnegan?

1.07 Calvin Johnson

Tough to argue with the best WR in the league when he puts up sick stats with awful QBs...unbelievable. Hell, the only way to stop him is to steal TDs from him...Chicago ring a bell?

1.08 Frank Gore

Paging Jamal Lewis. Your twin is back in the mix. Juice is throwing him back for a reason...

1.09 Steven Jackson

Did he really play in 16 games? Trend? I doubt it. But Bradford and Co. looks to dominate the West for the next few years and you better believe SJAX is the man to lead them to the postseason.

1.10 Reggie Wayne

He'll singlehandedly win you weeks and require Depends during the others. Like DeSean only with a reliable QB. I'm betting on Peyton.

2.01 Vincent Jackson

If he isn't kept in the 2nd, you gotta think 6'5" playmaker is good for WR1 numbers on a weekly basis. Something tells me SD won't let him go too easily...even AJ Smith knows Lege - doodoo and Floyd won't get it done in 2011.

2.02 Greg Jennings

I personally gave up on this guy too early which is funny because I valued Cedric Benson circa Bears and PT Cruiser a bit too much over the years, I suppose. But I digress - GJ has a place on the UCB roster if available. Period.

2.03 Peyton Manning

I love 300+ and tall foreheads.

2.04 Jahvid Best

You keep telling yourself that week 2 wasn't an anomaly. And Drury will simply laugh...

2.05 Knowshon Moreno

I wonder what Elway thinks of him...TD perhaps?

2.06 Jonathan Stewart

Is this the year? Don't think I'm gonna find out...thoughts, Flava?

2.07 Brandon Marshall

If D&D keeps Bess, then why bet the farm on Henne and Sparano? I know why - Because you're dumb and dangerous.

2.08 Ryan Matthews

Speaking of futility! Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, call me D&D!

2.09 Larry Fitzgerald

Because there's always a sucker out there. You know the type - they draft Steve Smith almost every season...right, Fred?

2.10 Dez Bryant

Let the Cowboy hype machine begin! It's too bad really....Drury probably would have taken the trophy in 2010 if not for Tony's bum shoulder.

Just missed the cut...

Forte, Welker, Boldin, Gates, Harvin, DJax...and probably someone I forgot!

Never too early, boys! 2011 bumps and 2010 rosters
