History Lesson?

As with any trade on the FPT there is always a level of intense scrutiny but considering most of you are silent on the blog and site allow me to present both sides.

UCB receives the #13 pick
Ninja Mafia receives the #29, #32, and DeAndre Levy

First, what does this mean? Well, clearly UCB wasn't finished and is a sucker for 2nd round
picks. After all, wouldn't you if you have a resume filled with the likes of Kevin Jones, Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison (nightmare), LJ, and Portis (trade bait luckily). Upon first glance you may think - wow, these picks weren't that bad. Let me assure you - if I drafted them in the 2nd, they busted. Book it! It's called inevitability... That's why anybody going with a Colt receiver should be very nervous. Looks like Peyton could be drinking the 2nd round poison in 2010...

Second, Ninja collects picks in rounds 3 and 4 like the democrats collect taxes from the rich! Ouch. In all seriousness, Flava once coughed up his 3rd for a can't miss young buck named Laurence Maroney. And as recently as last year Ninja got his hands on DeSean Jackson in the 4th with a pick from Brain who obviously doesn't believe in the talent from the 4th round. DeSean clearly got it done, albeit a bit hit and miss. And Thomas Jones in the 30 spot in 2007 proved to be a year early seeing 2 total TDs and a weak 3.6 ypc!

So, where does this leave us? For starters - UCB loves the 1st turn talent enough to pass on the falling values late in the third. However, does this mean Ninja is gearing up for a IDP powerplay? If you trust the history above, you have to wonder if Ninja's propensity for making bold and early moves to dictate the rhythm of the draft is lurking...time will tell.

Did I just hear someone say DeMarcus Ware is on the board at pick 32? Sweet music to my ears.
