So it's draft morning, 6 AM EST, what have we learned?
1. IDP keeps aren't as impressive as I anticipated. And that PE loves Beason at the WLB. Hope he doesn't suffer the same fate as Thomas Davis...
2. Tons of wideouts gone already! And not so many running backs...a function of our keeper structure or the direction of rolling with the knowns, so to speak? Feature backs are an increasingly rare commodity and some might argue, endangered on the way to extinction. They are looking at expanding to 18 games soon.
3. We forgot to be clear on what it means to declare your keeps. When you declare - it's final. We simply hadn't thought about it to be honest, until the phone lines lit up chasing tremendous value being thrown back in, we were clueless the interest was legit. So, we'll be sure to amend the document going into 2011 to include a time where all rosters are set so guys don't get an unfair advantage knowing who was being released to begin with.
Lastly, for the draft tonight, I'll have two computers available - one for the draft board and one for a war room cam if Chicago has a computer available. Juice has done Skype before. I did iCat a while back. So, let me know Chitown if this is a possibility. It just seems easier than burning through cell batteries, frees all phones up for trade texts, and could potentially add to the ambiance. And if anyone else knows a better way to set something up I'm all ears!
That's it, boys! You have 12 hours and 44 minutes Drury!
